Travel arrangements

Getting to Ilam

If coming by car, there is at least one Peak District firm that provides a "one way walk" service where customers can be dropped off at the start or collected at the end of their journey and returned to their cars. They will also take care of your luggage and move it to your overnight accommodation if required.

If travelling by public transport, there is a bus service from Ashbourne and Ilam has its very own coach company – Warrington Coaches. If you have a minibus sized party or bigger they may come out and collect you. There are also several taxi companies in the Ashbourne area. Otherwise can you persuade a friend to give you a lift?

There are no railway stations very near but you could take a long taxi ride from the stations at Uttoxeter, Derby, Buxton or Stoke.

Getting home from Eyam

There are several buses a day to Sheffield, to Chesterfield and to Buxton.

For trains to the north and east head for Sheffield, for the South and Midlands head for Chesterfield and for the north-west head for Buxton.
